Contract 1 [Action/Accidental Video]

[It’s after sundown when something falls into the fountain. A thin man in a cloak pulls himself up and onto dry land, covering his face with the hood of his cloak. He looks around at his surroundings, taking it all in. It’s as though he’s never seen such a place before.]

Most fascinating…

[He notices the device near him and picks it up, staring at the screen and lights curiously. This allows anyone watching to get a look at him. Despite his face being partly covered in shadow, one may be able to see that his face is very gaunt and his eyes are pale red.]

What a curious object this is.

[He taps the glass screen as if expecting something to come out of it, and then presses a button experimentally. The screen goes blank, even though the fountain can still be heard in the background. The sound eventually stops and some nonsense text appears briefly. The feed type cycles a few more times before it gets switched back to video.]

Perhaps Lucien or M’raaj-Dar will be able to decipher this item’s mysteries. [Glances around.] That is, if I can figure out where I am and how I may go about returning home.

[/Video feed ends]

[Very dry.] Apparently, it's technology. The item.

And after a pause.] You're in the City.

It speaks?

...Ahem, technology, you say? It is no technology I have ever seen. No, rather I suspect it is an odd type of soul gem and you are its inhabitant.

City of what?

voice;

[identity profile] gaiustavarus.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm certainly not the inhabitant of any soul gem. Whatever a soul gem is.

Just the City. There's a barrier around it keeping us in and beasts out and sometimes, people arrive or leave for no discernable reason.

voice;

[identity profile] servessithis.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Then perhaps you are a spirit bound to this artifact? [Much like Clavicus Vile's dog has been known to do.]

How original. [Drips sarcasm.] A barrier you say? Interesting. What provenence is this? Where is your Emperor?

voice;

[identity profile] gaiustavarus.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Not a spirit, either. Nor am I bound to this thing.

No provenence and no Emperor. [WELL. He is technically an Emperor, but not of this place.] There's deities, though, and people from many different worlds.

Hm, you are either lying or this is some magic I have yet to encounter.

None? Another realm, then? [Like Oblivion, with less fire and daedra hopefully.] Deities, you say. Well, they shall have to do.

voice;

[identity profile] gaiustavarus.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
If you stay where you are, I can prove that I'm not lying.

They'll have to do for what?

voice;

[identity profile] servessithis.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
...Very well. But try to trick me and you will regret it.

For getting me home. What offerings to they require?

action;

[A little later, a young man in Roman uniform with a device equal to yours is approaching you.]

I'm real. And it might be a form of sorcery, but it's called technology.

[There's a bit of a pause.] The deities accept trades, but I don't think they're willing to send you home.

action;

[identity profile] servessithis.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[He sees you, and he's keeping his distance while also keeping his face hidden by his hood. This man almost looks like he could be part of the Legion with that armor.]

So you are. Technology in my realm is the blacksmith's tools, the crossbow, and such. We have nothing like this there. [Indicates his own device.] We certainly have no magic so that common mortals may communicate long distance.

Stubborn, are they?

action;

[identity profile] gaiustavarus.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[Legion yes, but not one you know. He's mustering you quite openly, though.]

Technology here is something else. Nothing like it exists in my world, but we have ways to communicate regardless.

That would be one way to describe them, certainly.

action;

[identity profile] servessithis.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Tilts his head slightly to look around.] This city is certainly unlike any described in history texts. As is this technology.

It seems no matter the realm, that is a common aspect of gods. [Luckily his own god is easy to please.]

Is there at least a Mages' Guild here or an equivilant?

action;

[identity profile] gaiustavarus.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It's different because it's not part of your history - or your world. Nor mine, or anyone's here for that matter.

There's no cast of sorcerers.

action;

[identity profile] servessithis.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
So, this is another realm. [This is a big discovery. If he had more of a life outside the Brotherhood, he could try and make some gold off being the pioneer of this realm.]

Can you at least tell me where I may find the shrines to these deities?
