Contract 20 [Video]

I've read The Lusty Argonian Maid, the original printing of The Real Barenziah, and many, many lewd tavern songs, and it's telling something if the things I have seen over the Network today out class them in terms of sheer raunchiness.

Interestingly enough, I personally have seen many related to vampires. I do not know how the idea of my kind as young and attractive sex gods came to be, but I find it amusing at most. The same can be said for the material involving werewolves. They have them in Morrowind, and they were not so eager to jump into bed with young maidens last time I encountered one.

[As he talks, a few ads and videos of the kind he descibes pop up.]

It is odd, isn't it? I mean, early movies certainly didn't have nice looking vampires.

I do not watch movies, but I have read my share of literature on them, including a book of "cinema" vampires. It is indeed quite odd.

You're more of a reader then? I haven't really kept up with books for a while. Well, or movies either, to be honest. I wouldn't have noticed if it didn't seem to be... well, so popular.

[identity profile] servessithis.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed I am. Movies do not exist in my world, and I tend to have much time on my hands. Thus, I read.

Vampires are far from "popular" where I come from. Quite the opposite, in fact.

That seems to be more how it is in reality. It's easy to romanticize the idea of a vampire in books and other things, maybe because you're a step away from them. It's a different thing when you start considering them as real.

[identity profile] servessithis.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, now, some vampires are capable of being truely romantic. It just requires them to retain their sanity after being bitten.

As I said before, though, it is not the normal and vampires are indeed very dangerous creatures.

[identity profile] liveontoday.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[Saya laughs lightly.]

Oh I don't doubt that. I mean, well, anyone can be romantic in their own way. When it comes to that, it's all personal taste, right?

What I mean is the idea of a vampire is made more glamorous than it really is, you know?

[identity profile] servessithis.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course.

It is a strange phenomenon. I have also not failed to notice that many of the vampires in these videos and modern literature in general are portrayed as very attractive. In my world, only a well-fed vampire retains the appearance they did as a mortal, and even then, they lose their good looks as time goes on.

[identity profile] liveontoday.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never really heard of that happening. And people aren't very accepting of them in your world either?

[identity profile] servessithis.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
You could say I am a bit of an expert on them. Unfortunatly not. Vampires are feared as bloodthirsty monsters in my world, and most are attacked on sight. Of course, their fears are not entirely without reason.

[identity profile] liveontoday.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm, I can understand why. It's harsh but sometimes that's just how things have to work out.

[identity profile] servessithis.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed it is. Although, I do know a vampire who found a home with some lovely people who love him even with his condition.

[identity profile] liveontoday.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm glad to hear that. It's hard to accept when things change like that with someone you care about but... I'm happy to hear they could. I'm sure it meant more to him than they may ever realize.

[identity profile] servessithis.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
They're more his adopted family, but I know what you are saying. [Voice takes on a whistful tone.] And yes, indeed, being accepted by them means a great deal to him.

[identity profile] liveontoday.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Adopted or not, loved ones are still loved ones. And family is still family, right?

[identity profile] servessithis.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I could not agree more. [Oh, how he misses his Family.]

Welcome to my world.

[identity profile] servessithis.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
I will be relieved when this curse is over.

[identity profile] servessithis.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps if it were not so distracting.
